Volvo Begins Production of New EX90
The factory near Charleston, South Carolina, has started producing the brand’s flagship all-electric SUV.

Volvo has expanded its electric vehicle (EV) line-up with the new EX90. The flagship electric SUV has officially started production at Volvo’s US plant near Charleston, South Carolina.
The factory has undergone recent investments in both the body shop and the paint shop to renew and expand facilities. It also now includes a state-of-the-art battery production line for electric vehicles like the new EX90.

Next-generation technology
The new Volvo EX90 is not just another addition to the electric Volvo portfolio. It also happens to be the first Volvo car to be built using core computing technology, making it the safest model yet.
With a suite of sensors including radar and lidar, the Volvo EX90 delivers the highest level of safety as standard.
Driver Understanding uses sensors to monitor the driver and step in where a lack of attention is detected. Occupant Sensing reminds you if there is anyone left behind in your vehicle, with the climate system adjusted to improve comfort.
Dedicated to safety all around, the Volvo EX90 is packed with a range of active and passive driver aids. These include:

Fitted with a 111kWh battery and a pair of electric motors, the Volvo EX90 offers up to 374.1 miles of range on the WLTP test cycle. Range Assistant gives you an overview of range, with improvements to help maximise energy efficiency.
Battery pre-conditioning enables charging efficiency by heating or cooling the battery in advance. This allows for faster charging, with a 10-80% charge taking just 30 minutes using a rapid 250kW DC charger.
Set up your account in the Volvo Cars app and make public charging easier than ever. This allows you to manage access, payment, and more, making it quick and simple to plug in and recharge.
Bi-directional charging also allows the Volvo EX90 to power other devices. From standard appliances to your house itself, including returning surplus energy to the grid to help you save money.
Smart, luxurious design
Volvo cars are known and loved for their luxurious, high-end interiors and the new EX90 is no exception. With exquisite craftsmanship and attention to detail, the EX90’s interior delights all the senses.
Seven full-sized adult seats with an ergonomic design ensure optimal comfort and support for all passengers. Covered in either a Wool Blend or Nordico upholstery, matched with Scandi-inspired wood accents. Responsibly sourced for added sustainability.
Natural LED interior lighting uses a spectrum similar to natural sunlight for a calm, peaceful setting. Back-lit genuine wood decor also adds to the ambience, along with a tilted panoramic roof to let the light in.
Charcoal detailing on the dashboard and door panels adds elegant style, along with jewel-design details in the cabin. With smart monitoring and purification, the EX90 offers improved air quality for all passengers.
