New Kia PBV Deals

Kia's PBV range is unlike anything else in the current Kia car range. The Kia PBV - Platform Beyond Vehicle - is a fully electric range designed to serve individual buyers, families, and small businesses in equal measure.

Whether you're a parent needing a spacious everyday vehicle, a sole trader looking for a capable electric workhorse, or a small business owner wanting a van that does more than one job, the Kia PV5 has a body type and configuration to match.

Overview of the New Kia PBV

The Kia PV5 is the first model to launch under the Kia PBV umbrella. Built on Kia's dedicated E-GMP.S electric platform, it arrives as a fully electric vehicle with zero tailpipe emissions across all variants - a meaningful advantage whether you're managing a household budget or a small business's running costs.

Three body types are available in the UK, each serving a distinct purpose. The Kia PV5 Passenger is the people-mover - spacious, accessible, and suited to families, lifestyle buyers, and personal transport operators alike. The Kia PV5 Cargo is a practical electric delivery and trade van with genuine commercial capability. The Kia PV5 Chassis Cab is a flexible base for specialist conversions - ideal for businesses that need a bespoke body, from refrigerated units to accessible transport builds.

What links all three is a shared platform built for electric life from the ground up. No transmission tunnel, no unnecessary weight, no compromises inherited from a combustion original. For anyone choosing their first Kia electric car or van - whether you're running a household, a round of deliveries, or something in between - that's a more honest foundation than most vehicles in this class can offer.

The Kia car range is set to expand further with the Kia PV7 in 2027, a larger PBV model for those who need more.

The Kia PBV Interior

The Kia PV5 interior space benefits directly from the electric platform's flat floor. With no transmission tunnel running through the cabin, every passenger - front or rear - gets more foot room and a more comfortable journey.

In the Passenger, first-row leg room measures 1,041mm and second-row leg room reaches 995mm. Head room is 1,020mm up front and 1,076mm in the rear. Wide 775mm sliding doors and a low 399mm step-in height make getting in and out easy for children, older passengers, and those with mobility needs - a feature that's as relevant for a family school run as it is for a community transport service.

Luggage capacity sits at 1,330 litres with all seats in place. Fold the second row flat and that opens up to 3,615 litres - enough for a long weekend away, a wheelchair, sports kit, or the kind of awkward load that defeats most car-based MPVs. The 85-degree tailgate provides overhead cover while you load, which is a welcome practicality in any weather.

The driver's area is designed for comfort and productivity. A pull-out centre tray serves as a working surface, a 100W USB-C port keeps devices charged throughout the day, and smart storage keeps the cab tidy. On Plus grade, a wireless phone charger and 220V vehicle-to-load (V2L) outlet let you power tools, devices, or appliances directly from the vehicle's battery - particularly useful for sole traders or mobile workers who need power away from a plug.

The 12.9-inch touchscreen navigation system and 7.5-inch digital driver display make the Kia PV5 interior feel thoroughly connected. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard on both grades, and Over-the-Air updates keep the vehicle's software current without a dealership visit.

The Cargo's load area offers 4.4 cubic metres of space, with split rear doors that open to 180 degrees - wide enough to take two Euro pallets. A low 419mm rear step makes loading easier on the back, and optional dual sliding doors add versatility for urban deliveries or kerbside working.

Exterior of the Kia PBV

You won't mistake the Kia PV5 for anything else on the road. The upright, square-shouldered stance is a statement - wide, purposeful, and unapologetically practical. Where most MPVs try to look like stretched saloons, the PV5 wears its function as a design feature, and it's more interesting for it. It might be an unconventional approach when it comes to the Kia models lineup, but it's one that grants the PV5 a bold, modern identity.

Across all body types, Kia's Tiger Face front end pairs clean upper lines with a more robust lower section - the signature Star Map LED lighting runs front and rear, giving the PV5 a strong, recognisable face in traffic, while ensuring strong visibility. You also benefit from design choices that reduce the cost of ownership: the 3-piece bumper and easy-replace panels mean minor knocks stay minor.

The flat side panels are a useful practical detail. For business owners, they offer a clean, uninterrupted surface for livery and branding. For private buyers, they give the vehicle a purposeful, unfussy look that ages well.

The Passenger is available in six exterior colours: White Pearl as standard, with Midnight Black, Cityscape Green, Steel Grey, Lakehouse Grey, and Frost Blue as premium options. The Cargo offers four: Clear White, Midnight Black, Cityscape Green, and Steel Grey.

New Kia PBV Trims and Specifications

Every Kia PV5 model is available in two grades: Essential and Plus. Essential covers everything most buyers will need day-to-day, including automatic air conditioning, the full 12.9-inch infotainment system, wireless CarPlay and Android Auto, Highway Driving Assist, Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, and seven years of Kia Connect services as standard.

Plus adds the features that raise this Kia electric van's comfort and capability: heated front and rear seats on the Passenger, power seat adjustment and lumbar support, alloy wheels, blind-spot collision avoidance, V2L capability, and a wireless phone charger, among others. On the Cargo and Chassis Cab, Plus also brings electric folding mirrors, heated seats and steering wheel, and the V2L outlet - useful for tradespeople who want to run tools or charge equipment from the vehicle.

New Kia PBV Engines and Performance

Every Kia PV5 runs on a fully electric powertrain with zero tailpipe emissions. Each model is available with the 51.5 kWh Standard Range (SR) battery, while the Passenger and Cargo also offer a 71.2 kWh Long Range (LR) option. The Chassis Cab is SR-only.

The Passenger LR covers up to 256 miles combined and up to 364 miles in city conditions - enough for most daily routines without mid-day charging. The Cargo LR reaches 258 miles combined. All variants support DC rapid charging at up to 150kW, with a 10-80% charge in under 30 minutes. For overnight home charging at 11kW AC, the SR takes around four hours and 45 minutes and the LR around six and a half hours.

New Kia PBV Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Kia PV5 Passenger Good for Road Trips?

Yes - and more so than many buyers expect from a Kia vehicle of this format.

The Long Range variant covers up to 256 miles on a combined WLTP cycle and up to 364 miles in city driving conditions. For most UK road trips, that's enough to reach your destination without a planned charge stop. When you do need to top up, DC rapid charging at up to 150kW delivers 10-80% in under 30 minutes - a sensible stop on a longer drive.

Passenger comfort on longer journeys is where the Kia PV5 interior space really earns its keep. Compared to small Kia cars, everyone aboard gets generous leg room and head room, and the second-row seats recline and fold for those who want to stretch out. There's 1,330 litres of boot space for five passengers - enough for a full family's weekend luggage without resorting to a roof box.

Kia Connect's in-car navigation uses live traffic data and flags nearby charging stations as you travel, taking the guesswork out of longer routes. The 7.5-inch driver display keeps range, speed, and charge status visible at a glance throughout.

For a small business owner doubling the vehicle up as a personal car at weekends, the LR Passenger handles both roles equally well - and above all, doesn't ask you to choose between them.
