Ford Puma Tops The Sales Charts For 2024
The Ford Puma can be confirmed as the best-selling car in the UK in 2024 after the final figures for the calendar year were revealed by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders.
The Puma narrowly emerged ahead of the Kia Sportage to secure top spot, with stronger sales across December ensuring that 1,177 more Pumas were registered across the year.
At the end of November, the difference between the two models had been under 100.
Second place for the Sportage still added another string to Kia’s bow after an impressive year that saw it emerge as the fourth best-selling brand in the UK.
Nissan rounded out the top three with the Qashqai and was the only manufacturer to have two cars in the top six, with the Juke just behind in fourth as models built at the Sunderland plant continued to be popular with customers.
The Tesla Model Y was the only electric car to make the top ten overall, having sold more than 15,000 more units that the second best BEV; the Audi Q4 e-tron.
Volkswagen’s evergreen Golf took sixth spot as the best-selling hatchback on sale in the UK, with the Polo in tenth being the only other non-SUV on the best seller list.
