Founded in 1863 and a founder member of the County Championship, Yorkshire County Cricket Club is the most successful club in competition history having been crowned champions more than 30 times.
The club is a firm supporter of cricket at grassroots level, with more than 800 teams in action across the country showcasing the passion there is for the sport across the region.
In a bid to tackle issues in their local community, The Yorkshire Cricket Foundation was formed in 2009 to work alongside the club on various programmes focused around Education, Health & Wellbeing, Heritage and Participation.
With the club working to learn from its recent challenges and restore its historic reputation at the top of English cricket, we are proud to be onboard to lend our support to its charitable arm.
Our partnership provides a way in which we can work together with the Yorkshire Cricket Foundation to boost the valuable work carried out by the charity; ensuring that the various initiatives continue to have a positive impact on the people who need them most.
So far, we have provided:
A 17-seater minibus to help deliver numerous community programmes.
Support to The Yorkshire Cricket College, providing funding for qualifications, travel and kit for students facing financial issues.
Support for various 'Cricket in the Classroom' and 'Education Days' for local primary schools to inspire young cricketers.
The Yorkshire Cricket Foundation exists to provide sport-based education and community initiatives across the county to improve the lives of local people.
The Foundation aims to have a lasting and positive impact on communities regardless of age, region or ability with a wide and varied programme of events that includes everything from junior competitions to supporting local refugees, and providing facilities and equipment through to ensuring that children are fed via its Crick-EAT initiative.
