Like a number of clubs, the history of Somerset County Cricket Club dates back way beyond the official formation of the club in 1875, when it was decided that Somerset should have its own county club.
Although Somerset has never won the County Championship, the club has been home to some of the most famous names in the sport including the likes of Sir Viv Richards and Marcus Trescothick.
The club has enjoyed plenty of success away from the County Championship, including six wins in one day cup competitions and two victories in the hugely popular T20 Blast.
The Somerset Cricket Foundation works to harness the power of cricket to help local communities and make a positive difference to all those it comes into contact with.
A small, but strong, team works to a plan linked to the English Cricket Board's Inspired Generations strategy with a focus on making the sport accessible to all - resulting in a wide range of teams currently being in action.
This includes teams in Women and Girls' Cricket, a County Disability Programme and both men's Over 50's and Over 60's team.
Our support is seen in the way we became the first ever shirt sponsor for the Somerset Women's Team.
