Volvo Takes Covers Off EX30 Cross Country

Volvo has revealed an off-road version of the EX30 which is says will provide people with ‘big experiences from their small, fully electric SUV’.
The EX30 Cross County is the first EV from Volvo to carry the Cross Country badge, which has previously been used on a range of different models across the range, including the likes of the V40 and S60.
The car benefits from an increase in ride height in order to deal with tougher terrain and larger all-terrain tyres, whilst it is also fitted with an all-wheel drive system in order to deal with more challenging conditions.
Chunky front and rear skid plates help to give a more rugged visual appearance compared to the standard car, with a raft of added extras that are designed to cater for those looking to maximise their adventure experience – which include a special roof basket.
The Cross County features a number of the interior design cues that have proven to be popular on the regular EX30, such as the versatile central storage tunnel and a neat storage box for the rear passengers.
Various safety features come as standard, whilst Google integration means a range of Google products – including maps – are available.
“We launched our first Cross Country car more than 25 years ago, and this concept of durable and all-weather cars is core to the Volvo brand,” said Jim Rowan, Volvo Cars’ CEO.
“In Sweden we face harsh winters, but we also like to make the most of them by getting out and exploring our amazing nature, even when it’s minus 20 Celsius outside.
“We know that more and more people are seeking ways to get closer to nature. That’s why we want to deliver a fully rounded experience, not simply a car, to our EX30 Cross Country customers.”
Further details on the car, including pricing, will follow in due course.
