Vertu Motors Celebrates Success As Yeovil Town Gain Promotion
Vertu Motors is celebrating a successful first season in partnership with Yeovil Town Football Club after the team secured promotion from the National League South at the first attempt.
Vertu Motors joined forces with the club through its Land Rover dealerships in both Yeovil and Taunton in July last year ahead of the start of the 2023/24 season, which marked the start of a new era for the Somerset-based side after a period of instability saw it relegated to the sixth tier of the English game.
After a takeover from the Hellier Group saw off the threat of administration, focus turned towards starting the climb back up the football ladder, with Vertu Motors amongst the first partners to join forces with the team following the change of ownership.
The partnership saw Vertu Motors take over sponsorship of the dugout area at Huish Park as well as the Goal of the Month competition, and provided an opportunity to boost brand awareness and community engagement in the area after the wider Vertu Motors group acquired 28 retail sites in the South West from Helston Garages Group Limited.
On the pitch, a fine season that included a club record 14-game unbeaten run, saw Yeovil secure an immediate return to the National League with two games to spare whilst a total of 29 league wins is the second highest number in a season in the club’s history.
Simon Crane, General Manager for Yeovil and Taunton Land Rover, said: “We are extremely proud to have been partners with Yeovil Town during such a successful season, and to gain promotion back to the National League has been a fantastic achievement.
“After a challenging period for the club, it is fantastic for the whole community to see Yeovil Town on the up, and we look forward to cheering the team on to further success in the future.”
