Triple Success For Kia In 4x4 Awards
Kia is celebrated more success in awards season after picking up three gongs at the annual 4x4 of the Year Awards presented by Overlander 4x4 magazine.
Although not widely seen as a 4x4 brand by many, Kia took home the Best Large SUV prize with the Sorento as well as Best Electric SUV for the EV6 – with the latter being the first winner of an all new award introduced this year.
On top of the awards for the two individual models, Kia was also named as Manufacturer of the Year for the third year in a row to extend an already impressive run of success.
“Nobody had ever won Manufacturer of the Year twice in a row, but now Kia’s got a hat-trick,” Alan Kidd, Editor of Overlander 4x4 magazine, said. “They’ve got an instinctive grasp of what an SUV should be and they put it into every model they make.
“The only thing they’ve not got in their range is a proper off-road machine. You wouldn’t actually put it past them, with the growth of so-called Rugged Utility Vehicles – and you just know that if they did do it, they’d do it well.”
