The latest fixtures in the Vitality Blast resulted in one win, one loss for Yorkshire although it was a close run thing in both games for the Vertu Motors-backed side.

Following defeats to Birmingham Bears and Leicestershire, Yorkshire were looking to return to form in the Roses game with Lancashire at Headingley and elected to bat first having won the toss.

Adam Lyth and Dawid Malan were both out cheaply in the opening overs to leave the home side on 23-2 before Shan Masood and Joe Root swung the game back in their favour.

The pair out on more than 100 for the third wicket before Root was dismissed for 43, with Masood falling shortly afterwards for a knock of 61 from 41 balls to leave Yorkshire on 131-4 with just under five overs remaining.

A quickfire 22 from Jordan Thompson helped his side to reach 173-8 by the close, setting Lancashire – who topped the northern group – a tricky target to chase.

Although Josh Bohannon fell in the second over, some hard-hitting from Keaton Jennings saw him blast 46 from 24 balls to take the score close beyond 50 despite the loss of Luke Wells, with Jennings eventually caught off the bowling of Dom Bess to leave Lancs sitting on 67-3.

George Lavelle and Matt Hurst followed in quick succession shortly afterwards as the run chase started to slow and having needed to hit 20 from the final over, the visitors fell short as Yorkshire won by seven runs.

The following day saw a trip to Durham where the home side elected to bat first and produced a late flourish to set a winning target of 171 – with Dan Moriarty and Jordan Thompson both taking two wickets.

Although Malan fell for just seven in the fourth over and Joe Root only managed to reach 20, Yorkshire looked to be moving towards victory when Adam Lyth and Will Luxton carried the visitors into three figures by the half-way stage of the innings.

However, the departure of the pair – as well as Thompson for just one – suddenly changed the complexion of the game, although Yorkshire were still firm favourites going into the final over needing single figures from the final over to score the win.

Ben Dwarshuis had other ideas, and was able to defend eight off the over to give Durham the win and leave Yorkshire sixth in the group ahead of the next fixtures in the Blast, which take place in July.
