Sunderland End Losing Run At Stadium of Light
Sunderland ended a run of six successive defeats in the EFL Championship with a hard-fought draw against Queens Park Rangers at the Stadium of Light.
The Vertu Motors-backed side had endured a difficult run of form to fall away from the play-off places, and was looking to end that run in the final game before the latest international break.
Whilst that run did finally come to an end, there were no goals in a game that was low on chances, with the home side failing to really trouble visiting ‘keeper Asmir Begovic.
Indeed, it was Anthony Patterson between the sticks for Sunderland who would play the biggest part in the home side grabbing a point, with saves late on from Sinclair Armstrong and Chris Willock ensuring that the Black Cats ended the losing run.
With the international break providing a time for the team to now regroup for the final push towards the end of the campaign, Sunderland will next be in action away at Cardiff on Good Friday before a home tie with Blackburn Rovers on Easter Monday.
