Six Reasons Why The Toyota Aygo X Is The Perfect First Car
When you’ve just been told that you’ve passed your driving test and are thinking about the options for your first car, it’s not an easy decision to take.
Whilst we can all dream about a sporty little number or a hot hatch, the reality is that a first car is all about affordability, practicality, safety and cost.
With that in mind, here are six reasons why the Toyota Aygo X is the ideal option!
1: It’s a stylish little thing
If you’re a teenager who has just passed their test, the last thing you want is to feel embarrassed turning up to collect your mates in your new wheels. You’ll certainly not be compared to Simon from the Inbetweeners if you turn up in the Toyota Aygo X, which is one the most stylish small cars for sale in the UK.
The design of the car appearance provides a sense of fun and adventure, and also makes the Aygo X appear larger than it really is – giving extra presence on the road.
2: It’s cheap to insure
One of the biggest problems for all motorists - young and old, novice or experienced – is the cost of insurance, which is the biggest outlay you’ll need to make beyond actually buying the car itself. The Aygo X scores highly in this respect with the base Pure model sitting in Group 5, and even the top-of-the-range Exclusive only sitting in Group 7.
To put that into context, insurance groups run from 1-50, with a lower number resulting in lower insurance costs.
3: It’s cheap to run
Ok so there is no hybrid or electric version of the Aygo X available, but it is still one of the most efficient small cars there is on sale - which means it isn’t going to damage your pocket at the pumps as much as some rivals.
The 1.0-litre, 71bhp engine is well suited to urban environments but is also happy cruising along on the motorway, and you can expect to achieve in excess of 50mpg in the real world, which stands up well against official MPG figures of 58.8.
4: It’s well equipped
Even the most basic model in the Aygo X range comes with plenty of equipment as standard, including alloy wheels, electric front windows, automatic headlights, air conditioning and cruise control.
Although it certainly isn’t a car that would be described as large in any quarters, a reversing camera – and tight turning circle - will help when it comes to any tricky manoeuvres, whilst a touchscreen infotainment system comes with both Android Autoplay and Apple CarPlay as standard.
5: It’s a Toyota
Toyota as a brand is known for strong build quality and reliable cars, which is important when you want to keep running costs down and don’t want to worry about whether you can get from A-B.
Extra peace of mind if you are buying new comes in the form of a three-year manufacturer warranty and with qualifying services, you can even extend that up to a maximum of ten years and 100,000 miles.
Safety also comes as standard, with the Aygo X coming with a range of different features that protect you on the road.
6: You could get one for free...
If you’re not already sold on the Aygo X, then the fact you could pick one up free of charge will certainly grab your attention...
