Revised BMW iX To Gain More Power, Range
BMW has announced a series of revisions to the iX model range that will be introduced to the UK market later this year, increasing power and boosting range.
The iX was BMW’s first fully-electric Sports Utility Vehicle when it first went on sale in late 2021, and has been available in the UK in three different versions – the iX 40, iX 50 and the range topping ix M60.
In an indication of the extra power offered by the new model, those model designations will change with the new car, with the 2025 iX being offered as the xDrive45 in both Sport and M Sport trim, the xDrive60 M Sport and the top-of the range M70 xDrive.
The iX xDrive45 will start from £74,400 and comes with 408hp, an increase of 82hp over the model is replaces. Maximum range for the xDrive45 comes in at 374 miles for Sport trim, with a slight reduction for the M Sport variant.
Power rises up to 659hp in the iX M70 xDrive, with the iX xDrive60 M Sport having the greatest range – which now sits at an impressive 426 miles (WLTP) on a single charge.
That is a rise of around 34 miles compared to the iX xDrive50, which is the top model in the existing range.
Revisions have been made to the design of the car including a redesigned BMW kidney grille, with M Sport trim in particular gaining new design features that include sculpted front bumper and rear diffuser.
New technology includes special ‘City Lights’ which are designed to light both the road and the pavement, whilst all models are fitted with Driving Assistant Plus including Active Cruise Control with Stop & Go functionality, front collision warning with brake intervention and Parking Assistant.
The iX range will continue to be built at the BMW Group Plant in Dingolfing and first cars are due to arrive in the UK in May.
