The original performance SUV
In 2014, the Range Rover brand introduced the Range Rover Sport SVR. This defined the performance SUV category. Equipped with a 5.0 V8 engine and boasting a 0-60mph time of just 4.5 seconds, it elevated the dynamic capabilities of Range Rover to new heights. It retained the essence of a true Range Rover, maintaining the highest levels of composure and capability. It was met with immense success and set a high standard for future models.
Fast forward to 2023, and the new Range Rover Sport SV was launched, resetting the benchmark once again. As the most powerful Range Rover ever, it boasts 635PS and accelerates from 0-60mph in as little as 3.6 seconds. It features the world-first hydraulic ‘6D Dynamics’ suspension. This maintains a near-level stance even during the most extreme manoeuvres. Plus, lightweight carbon wheels and Brembo carbon ceramic brakes provide enhanced dynamic prowess.

Range Rover Velar
The name ‘Range Rover Velar’ stems from the very first Range Rover.
In 1969, a number of pre-production Range Rovers were registered and badged ‘Velar’ during testing. This originates from the Latin word ‘velare’, meaning to veil or cover.
The original Range Rover was subsequently ‘hidden in plain sight’ during testing and free from interference.
Therefore, when the fourth Range Rover vehicle was unveiled in 2017, Velar was the perfect name. Range Rover Velar became the avant-garde Range Rover.
