Public Debut For Toyota Urban Cruiser

The new Toyota Urban Cruiser has been given its public debut on the opening day of the Brussels Motor Show,

The model is due to be launched in the UK later this year as the latest addition to Toyota’s growing range of battery electric vehicles, and will provide the manufacturer with a greater presence in the competitive small SUV market.

The Urban Cruiser features the revised front end that is becoming a feature on new Toyota models with slim headlights, with the rear of the car including a wrap-around light bar.

Despite the compact size of the car – which is slightly larger than the Yaris Cross – the spacious interior benefits from a sliding rear seat which provides leg room for passengers that is comparable with D-segment models.

The Urban Cruiser will come with two different battery pack options, with a 49-kWh battery that provides 142hp, and a 61-kWh option that is offered in both front and all-wheel drive.

The front-wheel drive option will come with 172hp, with the all-wheel drive variant offering 182hp, with the extra power coming from an additional motor on the rear axle.
