New Engine Options For Volkswagen Golf

Two of the most popular trims in the Volkswagen Golf range are to be updated with the addition of new engine options.
The Golf is currently the top-selling car in its class in the UK this season and will now welcome two new engines to the Black Edition of the model, with the Golf Match – the most popular version on sale – being boosted with the addition of a new eHybrid.
All three new versions from the Golf range can be ordered from your local Vertu Volkswagen dealership from Thursday 21 November.
Black Edition:
The Golf Black Edition trim was unveiled earlier this year and will now be available with both a petrol 1.5 eTSI mild hybrid unit as well as a diesel 2.0 TDI.
Both engines have a 150 PS power output and are fitted with a an automatic seven-speed direct-shift gearbox to enhance what has already proven to be a popular addition to the Golf range.
The Black Edition sits one step below the GTE trim and includes 18 inch alloy wheels, upgraded IQ Matrix headlights and a range of black styling elements.
Match Edition:
The Match trim was launched in early 2024 to provide drivers with an impressive list of equipment at an affordable level and will now benefit from the addition of a plug-in hybrid package that will make it even more appealing.
The Golf Match eHybrid will be capable of electric-only driving of more than 88 miles thanks to a 19.7 kWh battery, which works alongside the petrol engine to provide impressive economy levels.
Features that come as standard include 17-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights, a rear-view camera, adaptive cruise control and Park and Comfort technology package.
