MG Adds Petrol Options To MG3, ZS Line-Ups

MG has announced the addition of a petrol powered option to the line-up for the MG3 supermini and the popular MG ZZ SUV.

The latest version of the MG3 had been offered solely as a hybrid since being launched, with the MG ZS available as both a hybrid and a full-blown EV.

Both will now be offered with an ICE option, with the petrol-powered MG3 SE becoming the most affordable model offered by the manufacturer with a starting price of under £16,500 OTR.

Power will come from a 1.5 litre engine mated to a five-speed manual gearbox, with a combined WTLP figure of 46.3mpg.

Dual screen technology, satellite navigation with speed limit recognition, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto and MG Pilot Safety will all come as standard.

“The SE Petrol is the third member of the hugely successful MG3 supermini family,” David Allison, Head of Product and Planning for MG Motor UK, said.

“It underlines MG’s commitment to delivering market-leading value and will be the obvious choice for the many drivers who want the option to own a new, compact and fuel-efficient petrol car.”

The petrol-powered MG ZS SE will become the cheapest option in the ZS range alongside the Hybrid+ SE, Hybrid+ Trophy and EV models and will utilise the same engine option as seen in the MG3.

“All the high levels of equipment introduced on the ZS Hybrid+ models feature on this latest MG,” Allison continued.

“Some highly-competitive pricing will enable customers to enjoy a stylish and spacious SUV for the same price or less than many B-segment superminis.”
