Mercedes Reveals All-New CLA
Mercedes has taken the covers off the latest incarnation of the CLA, which will originally be offered as an all-electric model with a hybrid to follow.
The new model is being referred to as the ‘most intelligent ever’ Mercedes model as the first to operate on a newly-developed Mercedes-Benz Operating System, which will offer over-the-air updates to a number of the most important functions on the car.
The latest CLA was revealed in Rome and is set to offer drivers up to 492 miles of range with the CLA+ variant – although final figures are still to be confirmed.
Fast-charging will be offered on the electric model, which will be joined by the hybrid version later this year.
“The premiere of the new CLA in Rome – a city just as iconic and timeless as Mercedes-Benz – was more than just another car launch,” Ola Kaellenius, Chief Executive Officer, Mercedes-Benz Group AG, said.
“It marks the beginning of a new era for Mercedes-Benz and for our customers: the CLA will be the most efficient and the most intelligent Mercedes we’ve ever made.
“It’s the one-litre car for the electric age – and at the same time will also be available as a highly efficient hybrid version. It is the first in a series of new models we’re adding to the Mercedes-Benz family.”
