Design
The all-new 4 Series Convertible features BMW’s refreshed kidney grille, giving it a confident and highly capable presence.
The 4 Series Convertible’s front also boasts new LED lights (Laser Lights are optional), and a dominant, streamline bonnet.
To the rear of the all-new 4 Series Convertible, it’s slightly more BMW ‘traditional’, with a familiar back to other popular BMW models.
The brand’s previous convertibles have seen folding hard-tops, however this new model sports a smooth and sleek soft-top roof, which BMW has declared is 40 per cent lighter than a metal alternative.
The soft-top roof of the all-new BMW 4 Series Convertible is fully automatic, and at the touch of a button, it can open or close in just 18 seconds at speeds of up to 31mph.
Engine
With three petrol and three diesel options, plus the choice of some mild hybrid technology, there’s a wide range of 4 Series Convertible engines to choose from. Whichever you choose however, an eight-speed automatic engine comes as standard.
Starting the line-up off, the 420i uses a 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol with 184hp, whilst the diesel equivalent, the 420d, is also a 2.0-litre unit with similar power.
At the top of the 4 Series Convertible range, expect the mighty M440i and M440d models. These are both six-cylinder engines, petrol and diesel respectively. The M440i is the fastest model, with 374hp, so it can sprint from 0-62mph in just 4.9 seconds.
Interior
From the moment you step inside, the new BMW 4 Series Convertible puts you in the centre of everything it does. From exquisite interior elements to technology built around the driver, it provides the ultimate driving experience.
Thanks to BMW’s Panel Bow design of the soft-top roof, the all-new 4 Series Convertible hosts a quiet and tranquil cabin.
Premium leather sports seats are heated in the front, whilst the rear set is designed for two passengers. You’ll also be able to find and control everything available using BMW’s latest Central Information Display.
Together with BMW ConnectedDrive services, you can even speak to your BMW 4 Series Convertible with the Intelligent Personal Assistant. Just say ‘Hey BMW’ and it will begin to learn your driving behaviour, even offering suggestions to help enhance your experience.
Space and Safety
The BMW 4 Series Convertible offers a generous 385 litres of boot space when the roof is up, however this reduces down to 300 litres once it’s folded away.
The new 4 Series Convertible also includes state-of-the-art safety tech as standard, to keep you and your passengers as safe as possible whilst cruising.
Features include: Lane Keep Assist with Steering Functionality, Lane Departure Warning, a reversing camera, plus Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB).
