Kia’s run of success with the new EV3 has continued after the model was named as the winner of the UK Car of the Year for 2025.

The EV3 had earned a spot on the shortlist for the main award having been named as best Small Crossover last month and saw off the challenge of six rivals – the Suzuki Swift, Skoda Superb, MINI Countryman, Hyundai Santa Fe, Polestar 4 and Hyundai IONIQ 5 N – to pick up the prize.

It marks the fourth successive year in which an EV has won the award and sees Kia defend the honour it won last year with the EV9.

“We’re delighted to once again be victorious winning the outright UK Car of the Year Award with EV3,” Paul Philpott, president and CEO of Kia UK, said.

“This follows our success in 2024 with EV9. These consecutive awards clearly demonstrate Kia’s strong leadership in electrification, the genuine demand from UK customers and the quality of our product line up.

“With this outstanding recognition and our increasing order bank, we and our dealer partners are confident EV3 will continue being a popular and accessible choice for the growing number of people switching to electric.”

The EV3 was previously named as a finalist in the European Car of the Year and is also on the shortlist for the World Car of the Year.
