Kia EV3 Wins DrivingElectric's 2025 Car Of The Year
Duo of awards mark huge success for Kia’s latest EV.
The Kia EV3 took home both ‘Best Electric Family Car’ and overall ‘Car of the Year’ in the 2025 DrivingElectric Awards.
The DrivingElectric Awards, now in their seventh year, celebrate the best new electrified vehicles on the market. Categories are judged by their team of industry expert road testers, and the highest performers take home the prize.
It's the second consecutive ‘Car of the Year’ win for Kia EV, following an overall win for the Kia EV9 in 2024. The Kia e-Niro was named ‘Car of the Year’ in the inaugural 2019 awards, and this year’s sweep of awards for the EV3 pushes Kia’s success rate at the annual ceremony up to 13 awards in seven years.
DrivingElectric Editor Paul Barker had high praise for the car, saying: “The Kia EV3 is a superb package with vanishingly few weak spots when it comes to meeting the needs of family car buyers. It makes a fine introduction to electric cars.”

This Car of the Year award follows a successful January for EV3, when it claimed the second best-selling EV position, and favourite for retail customers, in the UK – evidence of how well it meets the needs of UK customers.”
A real all-rounder, the EV3 is Kia’s most affordable EV, as well as offering the longest range of all of Kia’s electric vehicle line-up. The EV3 is Kia’s newest EV on sale in the UK, with a further 15 EVs in the pipeline for 2027, nine of which will be available in the UK.
