Kia EV3 Shortlisted For 2025 Car of the Year Award

The new Kia EV3 continues to draw plaudits after being named as one of the seven finalists for the 2025 European Car of the Year title.

The EV3, which has already been named as Car of the Year for 2024 at the annual Electrifying.com Awards and ‘Small SUV/Crossover of the Year’ at the News UK Motor Awards, has been nominated twelve months after its ‘big brother’ the EV9 took fourth place in the award.

It marks the fourth successive year in which a Kia model has made it to the final, with the Niro having also finished in fourth place in 2023 and the EV6 taking the top prize twelve months earlier.

The EV3 has a range of up to 375 miles (WLTP) and 400V fast-charging capability, which allows it to recharge from 10% to 80% in just 29 minutes, with a quick 15-minute charge adding up to 125 miles of range.

“I am proud that Kia is the only brand present in Europe that reached the COTY finalist stage six times over the last eight editions, and even won with a dedicated EV,” Marc Hedrich, President and CEO of Kia Europe, said.

“As a versatile and affordable electric vehicle, the Kia EV3 is proof that an EV can be the main car of the household while suiting a variety of lifestyles – and it is available now across Europe.”

The Car of the Year winner will be announced on January 10 2025, at the Brussels Motor Show.
