Kia Enjoy Strong Start To 2025

Kia’s bid to top the 2025 sales charts has made a positive start after the Sportage emerged as the best-selling model across the January.

Date from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders released last month saw the Sportage finish second behind the Ford Puma over the course of 2024, but the ever-popular SUV led the way in the first month of the new year to take the early lead in the charts.

It was a close run thing however, with a total of 3,476 new Sportages being registered across the month, compared to a total of 3,421 new Nissan Qashqais.

The Vauxhall Corsa rounded out the top three as the only other car to surpass 3,000 registrations for the month with the Puma coming in seventh spot.

Nissan, Peugeot and MG were the only manufacturers to have more than one car inside the top ten.

In total, Kia sold 10,813 cars during the first month of the year, second only to Volkswagen with 13,565 new cars registered.

That was an improvement for both manufacturers compared to twelve months ago, although the greatest improvement came from BYD, which registered 1,614 new cars compared to 248 in the same period in 2024.
