Kia Confirms High Performance EV9 GT For 2025
Kia has confirmed that a high-performance version of the EV9 will arrive in Europe in 2025 as the most powerful SUV the manufacturer has ever produced.
The car will come with all-wheel drive and a pair of electric motors that produce more than 500hp, meaning that the seven-seater will be capable of hitting 62mphn in under five seconds.
In order to deal with the increase in power, the car will come with Electronically Controlled Suspension to improve comfort and stability whilst there will be a number of unique design elements to make the car stand out – which include 21 inch alloy wheels, neon accents on the steering wheels and neon green brake calipers.
The interior of the car will also be exclusive to the GT in dark grey and black faux leather.
“The EV9 GT offers an exhilarating-to-drive factor with comfort and enjoyment for everyone on board while keeping the versatility to take everything with you,” said Marc Hedrich, President, and CEO at Kia Europe, said.
“We have taken the basis of the best car in the world and developed a stand-alone, high-performance version that will turn heads everywhere it goes.”
A variety of drive modes will be available for drivers, with Normal, Eco, Sport, My Drive and Terrain modes all offered to deal with differing conditions.
A special snow mode is available to provide additional traction in slippery conditions, with the ultimate driving experience offered via a steering wheel button that activates GT mode.
Fast charging will allow the EV9 GT to go from 10-to-80% in under 25 minutes.
