Jeep Celebrates 80th Anniversary With Limited Edition Models
Believe it or not, it’s been 80 years since the legendary 4x4 brand first burst onto the scene with the iconic Willys MB.
To commemorate the tremendous achievement of providing stylish, innovative and incredibly capable off-roading vehicles for eight decades running, Jeep have revealed two new special editions of fan favourites.
The 80th Anniversary Series special editions of the Renegade and Wrangler will be arriving in spring later this year.
Both brand-new versions are based on their current respective best-selling trim variants, however, they’ve added unique styling details, badging and equipment.
The Renegade 80th Anniversary Edition
The 80th Anniversary special edition of the Renegade is based on the highly-popular Limited trim.
It also features a revised seven-slot grille with low-gloss Granite Crystal colouring, 18-inch alloy wheels, LED lights all round and privacy glass.
It boasts an altogether exclusive presence.
Both Wrangler and Renegade models include a unique commemorative badge to mark the 80th year of Jeep production.
The badging appears in multiple places as a continuous celebration for Jeep: it’s incorporated across the cabin, from the seats (which are black leather with Tungsten stitching) to the floor mats.
Additionally, a state-of-the-art Jeep infotainment system is included with the new 80th Anniversary special, complete with unique graphic elements.
A full suite of driver assist systems has been thrown in as well.
Engine options for the all-new special edition Renegade are petrol only. Choose from either the 118bhp 1.0-litre turbo three-cylinder or the 148bhp 1.3-litre turbo four-cylinder.
Both variants are front-wheel drive, with the 1.3-litre Renegade equipped with a dual-clutch transmission only.
Whichever version of the 80th Anniversary Renegade you choose, you’re promised the performance, design and comfort Jeep have become famous for providing.
The Wrangler 80th Anniversary Edition
The Wrangler 80th Anniversary special edition also sports a similar commanding grille. However, this refreshed version of Jeep’s iconic feature comes in a striking metallic Neutral Grey, with the trim colour extended to the recognisable headlight and foglight bezels.
Expect impressive two-toned 18-inch alloy wheels that dominate the road, whilst a 268bhp 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine brings the real power.
The 80th Anniversary Wrangler boasts full LED headlights that automatically high-beam, a body-coloured hard-top and, of course, commemorative badging and plaques.
The exquisite premium black leather seen in the Renegade’s interior also makes an appearance inside the new Wrangler, along with a leather-wrapped dashboard and Berber floor mats.
The innovative and intelligent infotainment system from Jeep’s best model variants sits proudly inside the special edition Wrangler.
This also features the brand’s new Uconnect app-based service, plus the exclusive graphic treatment seen in the 80th Anniversary Renegade.
