First Deliveries of the New Volvo EX90 Set to Start from This Month

Production of the eagerly awaited model began in June at the manufacturer’s factory in Charleston, South Carolina.

It’s been quite some time since Volvo announced plans to release an electrified version of their flagship XC90 SUV. Almost two years in fact. But, finally after production of the EX90 began in June, the first deliveries are set to start taking place.

Lucky customers in the United States and Europe, will be the first to get their hands on the latest model later this month. As the year ends and we head into 2025, deliveries will be ramped up in more countries.

The Volvo EX90 sets a new standard in safety, sustainability, and usability, to make driving easier and more enjoyable.

To put the new model to the test, Volvo Chief Executive, Jim Rowan, took it on a road trip. This spanned from the manufacturer’s Charleston factory in South Carolina, all the way to California.

“Based on this trip, I can confidently say that the EX90 is the best car we have ever made,” says Jim Rowan. “After driving it for 950 kilometres through three states in the US in various driving conditions and road surfaces, I only have positive memories."

"The charging, the handling, the ride comfort, the silence of the cabin and the epic sound system, the reliability, the tech and the feel of the UI – I’ve never driven a Volvo car like it. The EX90 is the start of a new era for Volvo Cars, and it begins now.”

Journalists from all over the world were also invited to experience the model at a global media test drive in Los Angeles, California.

Future proof technology

The EX90 is Volvo’s first car to be powered by a core system. An in-car AI computer uses the NVIDIA DRIVE platform, alongside the Snapdragon Cockpit Platform. As well as in-house software developed by Volvo cars engineers. All work seamlessly to drive key functions including safety, infotainment, and battery management.

You can also benefit from new features and functionality thanks to over-the-air software updates. This allows the EX90 to grow with you.
