Exeter Chiefs made it four wins from win as it looks to defend the Premiership Rugby Cup title that it won for the first time last season.

Having already beaten Bristol Bears 75-0, Cornish Pirates 38-13 and Jersey Reds 43-22, the Chiefs made it four wins from four with a comfortable 47-10 success over London Scottish at Sandy Park.

Despite making several changes to the starting line-up, a hat-trick from Ross Vintcent alongside tries for Niall Armstong, Arthur Relton, Joe Snow and Oli Burrows was more than enough to see off the visitors, with Will Haydon-Wood kicking six conversions.

Vintcent secured the Vertu-backed Player of the Day award for his performance.

That leaves the Chiefs on top on Pool C with one game left to play against fellow Premiership side Bath, which could yet turn out to be the match that decides who qualifies for the semi-finals.

As it stands, the Chiefs are eight points clear but face losing the five points scored in the bonus point win over Jersey after the Championship side announced it had ceased trading – with the possibility that its results from the competition could be wiped.
