How do I create an account?
Creating a Motability Scheme online account is quick and easy. Simply head to the Motability website and sign up for your account here.
To sign up, you'll need to confirm a few important details to verify your identity. These include your National Insurance number and date of birth. You won’t need these details again, only your email address and password to log in to your account.
You can create an account if you:
- Already lease a Motability car, powered wheelchair, or scooter on the Scheme.
- Recently started your first Motability application at a dealership.
- Are eligible for a Mobility allowance and want to start your first lease application.
- Manage an allowance on behalf of somebody else (an individual appointee).
Online accounts are currently not available if you are:
- A corporate appointee.
- Have been appointed to manage more than one allowance.
- Starting your first powered wheelchair or scooter lease application.
Can I start a Motability application using my account?
Yes! Depending on whether you are a new or existing customer there are a few slight differences.
If you are a new customer, you’ll need to:
- Agree that you’ve read and understood information about how the Scheme works.
- Confirm personal details – name, address, date of birth, and your mobility allowance.
- Add information about any vehicle grants (if you are eligible).
- Select two named drivers and add their details (if they hold a UK, Scottish, or Welsh driving licence).
Existing customers
- Select ‘new car application’ in your online account.
- Confirm the same details listed above.
To apply online, you must be within the last three months of your lease, or a lease extension.
What happens after I’ve applied for a Motability lease online?
After you’ve started your application, it’s time to head to your local Motability dealer and choose your car. Our Motability experts will be able to show you around the latest models and arrange a test drive.
Once you’ve chosen your car, we will finalise your application. All you need to do is sit back and look forward to collection day. With an online account, you can also check your application status and view all the details of your new car.
Before you take delivery, you’ll be able to view your PIN (Personal Identification Number). You’ll need this to collect your car as it confirms that you agree to the terms and conditions of your lease.
