Burnley Begin Promotion Bid With Luton Trip

Former Premier League rivals Luton Town will be the opposition when Burnley kick off the EFL Championship season with a trip to Kenilworth Road.

The Vertu Motors-backed side will look to make an immediate return to the top flight, albeit under new management following the departure of Vincent Kompany to Bayern Munich during the summer.

Local rivals Blackburn and Preston are amongst the early fixtures as are Leeds United - one of the promotion favourites having gone close last season.

Amongst the ties towards the business end of the campaign are home games with Norwich and Sheffield United, both of whom will hope to be in contention to go up at the end of the season.
