If you’re in a bit of a lull after the end of The Grand Tour, Paddy Mcguinness and Chris Harris are here to help get you out of a slump.

Last month, Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May graced our TV screens for the final time after 22 years of working together. The moving final episode of The Grand Tour saw the trio embark on a road trip across Zimbabwe, culminating on Kubu Island in Botswana.

Marking the end of an era for motoring fans, you might be looking for a new TV show to fill the Grand Tour shaped hole in your life. That’s where Paddy McGuinness and Chris Harris might be able to help.

Paddy and Chris: Road Tripping sees the former Top Gear hosts set off on a European road trip across Sweden, Greece, and Switzerland. The duo are on a mission to crack the secrets of ageing, speaking to local residents along the way.

Of course, no road trip is complete without a car. That’s why we’re looking at the cars featured in Paddy and Chris: Road Tripping to help inspire your next adventure.

Volvo V70

In episode one, Paddy and Chris start their journey in Sweden. So, it seems fitting that their first car is native to the country they’ll be travelling through. Enter the Volvo V70 much to Chris’ delight.

The Volvo V70 was first introduced back in 1996 and was based on the popular 850 Estate. With the V standing for versatility, the V70 delivered exactly that. Proving hugely successful, three generations followed before the model was discontinued in 2016.

However, in its place Volvo introduced the V90 and V90 Cross Country. Boasting the same iconic estate design, the V90 is still available to buy now and has recently been updated with a new plug-in hybrid powertrain.

A testament to its adventuring capabilities, the V90 was recently honoured in the Caravan and Motorhome Club Towcar of the Year Awards.

Volkswagen ID. Buzz

Later in the series, Paddy and Chris headed to Switzerland in the hopes of reversing the signs of ageing. For this part of the journey, they hopped into the Volkswagen ID. Buzz.

The stylish ID. Buzz is a modern take on Volkswagen’s iconic Type 2 (T1) Microbus, also known as the ‘Volkswagen Bus’.

Offering a range of up to 293 miles (WLTP), the spacious campervan is brimming with state-of-the-art technology. With five, six or seven-seater versions and three trim levels available, there’s an ID.Buzz for everyone.

To carry all your road trip essentials, there’s also up to 2,496 litres of luggage capacity.
