How can I keep my Land Rover safe?
You can keep your Land Rover secure by following our helpful tips above and checking if your vehicle is eligible for security upgrades.
Other Land Rover security features include Secure Tracker and Secure Tracker Pro. If your vehicle is stolen, you’ll get a notification on your Remote App and assistance from the Stolen Vehicle Tracking Centre.
If your keys are inside your vehicle when it’s stolen, you can also contact the Stolen Vehicle Tracking Centre using the Remote App.

What is Guardian Mode?
Guardian Mode will alert you if any suspicious activity is detected – even if it’s using your keys. This gives you added peace of mind wherever you are.
An alert will be triggered if any of the following activities are detected:
- The vehicle alarm sounds
- The engine is on
- The vehicle is unlocked
- Doors, bonnet, roof, or windows are open
Is my Land Rover eligible for security upgrades?
If your vehicle was bought after 2018, you may be eligible for complimentary security upgrades. If you are unsure, contact your nearest Vertu Land Rover retailer who will be able to help.
How do I activate my alarm?
You can activate your alarm by pressing the lock button twice on your vehicle door or smart key. Always wait for a beep to sound to ensure that the alarm is activated.
What does Land Rover advise for clients with vehicles from before 2018?
Land Rover are working hard to bring support to clients who purchased a vehicle before 2018. Information will be communicated to you directly when this becomes available.
However, there are a few steps you can take to ensure the security of your Land Rover. These include:
- Always lock your vehicle if left unattended.
- Don't leave your keys in a location where they could easily be stolen.
- Activate vehicle lock reminders via the In Control app.
- Activate Secure Tracker/Secure Tracker Pro.
How do I know if my key is a UWB smart key?
All vehicles from model year 2021 onwards now come with a UWB smart key. Selected vehicles from model year 2018 also have a smart key. To check if your key is a UWB smart key, you can check the badge on the rear of the key fob.
What happens if I have a Secure Tracker and my vehicle is stolen?
You will receive an alert if your vehicle is stolen. The Stolen Vehicle Tracking Centre will then work to recover your vehicle as quickly as possible. You can still receieve support from the Stolen Vehicle Tracking Centre if the keys were in your vehicle when it was stolen. You can do this by activating the vehicle tracking system via the In Control app.
