  • Vertu Motors is supporting the Dartmoor National Park project
  • Dartmoor is one of 15 national parks included
  • The project will also champion sustainable tourism and wellbeing initiatives

Getting out in nature and exploring new roads is one of life's many adventures. It's not hard to see why national parks across the UK are visited 104 million times each year.*

Data supplied from The National Parks showed that 92% of people surveyed feel that the parks are vital to personal health and wellbeing.

But the automotive industry has a big impact on the environment.

BMW has announced a new initiative to help people enjoy national parks more sustainably. Vertu Motors is proud to support the Dartmoor National Park project.

Recharge in Nature

As drivers make the switch to electric mobility, BMW is helping drivers to continue enjoying national parks.

National parks are often seen as electric car charging grey areas, but the three-year partnership will address this. More chargers will be installed across parks in England, Scotland, and Wales.

It will also champion crucial nature restoration and biodiversity, plus well-being and sustainable tourism.

Dartmoor National Park

Located in Devon, Dartmoor National Park is a picturesque open moorland with deep river valleys.

Whether you prefer to walk, cycle, or run, visitors can enjoy 450 miles of paths.

Soak up the scenery or delve deeper into the history of the park with archaeological sites.

As part of the project, EV chargers have been installed in five high footfall areas. Postbridge Visitor Centre is now home to two new charging points.

Lying at the heart of Dartmoor, Postbridge is the ideal starting point to explore the park's Bronze Age archeology.
